Information and Guidelines for ARRL Booth Volunteer Staff
General Information:

More than 100,000 members of the broadcasting industry will converge on the Las Vegas Convention Center this coming April when the National Association of Broadcasters hosts NAB Show 2022. While there certainly is a fun aspect to the NAB Show the real focus is on business, education, and technical advancement. Among these attendees will be several thousand people who are also licensed amateur radio operators.
For many years, amateur radio and the ARRL have been fortunate enough to be a part of this stellar event. Through the generosity of the NAB Board of Directors, the ARRL is annually provided a premium booth from which to tell the story of amateur radio and to assist the thousands of hams from around the world in attendance.
The ARRL Booth at NAB is staffed by volunteers from the ARRL Nevada Section Field Organization and local amateur radio clubs. If you would like to participate as a volunteer staff member at this year's NAB SHOW please read the information here and then fill out and submit the sign-up form below.
The ARRL booth will be in operation from Saturday afternoon April 23 until Wednesday afternoon April 27. Because this is a high visibility, professional, business environment it is important that the ARRL booth and those staffing it maintain both the appearance and decorum befitting such a gathering.
To this end, certain guidelines, etiquette, and criteria, including a dress code and staff size, have been put into place for staffing the ARRL booth.
The operation of the ARRL booth is under the guidance of Nevada Section Manager John Bigley N7UR, assisted by Nevada Section staff.
After reading these guidelines any amateur radio operator who wishes to volunteer to staff the booth may sign-up online using the instructions at the bottom of this page.
The maximum number of volunteers staffing the booth at any one time will be three people, one of which will be designated as the Shift Lead. From time to time ARRL Leadership officials (red badge) and Section Level Leadership appointees (green badge) may also be present at the booth. Only those volunteers who are assigned to be on duty and League officials will be permitted to be inside the booth. Anyone inside the ARRL booth must be wearing the ARRL shirt which was provided for them.
There are six- 4 1/2 hour, two- 4 hour, and one- 3 1/2 hour shifts that require staffing. This allows for a total staff of 27 volunteers. Due to changes in NAB operations, the majority of the all booth staff will be receiving an Exhibits Pass allowing you to visit the showroom floor.
Suitable attire for booth staff is "business casual" which includes slacks or skirts and the ARRL provided shirt. Faded jeans, shorts, cut-offs, camouflage gear, hats and caps, bandanas, flip-flops and sandals, etc. are not appropriate for this environment and should not be worn.
You will be coming face to face with people from all corners of the earth. Please pay attention to your grooming. Hair combed, beards and mustaches neatly kept (no 3 day stubble), deodorant and mouthwash used (pop a tic-tac after lunch).
Do not bring chairs, beer coolers, wagons, and shopping carts to the booth. Any tradeshow materials which you pick up on the showroom floor should be taken to your vehicle prior to the start of your shift.
The terms of our booth allotment forbids product literature in the booth (including amateur radio manufacturers).
