It's hard to believe but started seeing some "football" like commercials and the hint of Fall is fast approaching. The mid west this week will see some temperatures in the 50's with an unusual cold spell.
Monsoon weather has been more or less typical "Garden Variety" thunderstorms. Very brief downpours and only localized urban flooding events. We haven't had any SKYWARN Activations or requests for activations. Still it's important to remind your members to monitor repeaters for any unexpected reportable weather reports.
It's OFFICIAL. We have a new Northeast District EC. Jim N6FIR will be taking over from Don KF7GGR. Don will continue to support the Thursday night VoIP ARES Net on IRLP/Echolink. This net can be heard on IRLP 9258 and Echolink 152566 NV-Gate Conference Node at 1900 L
Ron WB5KLJ put back up his long standing Gold Mt. repeater on 147.21 127.3pl south of Goldfield NV. This repeater is linked to his Tonopah repeater on 146.64 123pl. This added coverage from Beatty through Coaldale Junction on US95/Hwy6. It offers added repeater coverage in what would otherwise be a long silent section of roadway for miles. The repeater is connected to IRLP 9258 node 24/7 and Ron listens on that repeater quite a bit during the work week.
The Bishop ARC repeater 146.94 103pl works well from Goldfield to Tonopah and then in spots west of Tonopah.
I would like to have a brief "Activation" type drill next Saturday morning 10 am. This will be a quick call and reply type test only. The last time I had multiple conflicts so please let me know if this :30 drill will work for you.
