Northwest District Report
It been a long time coming, and the Rawe Peak project is now operational. On the 23rd of December, KJ6IX Dale Yanz, KG7DQG Paul Strople, and myself KD7NHC John Abrott met the antenna installers in Dayton. A rough 26 miles up the mountain, and we were at 8,200ft. The Installation went well. The UHF antenna is at 60 plus feet on the tower, with the VHF antenna at 40 plus feet. Once the antennas were operational, the radios were connected, and the computer fired up. Settings were verified, and we were operational. The Rawe Peak location is performing beyond our original expiation’s. Dale is doing an outstanding job with the NW District Packet/digital system.

Southern District Report
From Northeast Clark County, Tom KF7FTJ reports that a VE session was held in Logandale - 3 tested, 3 passed; 1 tech and 2 general.
Bill, W7HMV informs us that a new packet station is being tested on Angel Peak, with call sign of K7CCN-3. It is configured only as a digipeater and a node. The node call sign is K7CCN-8. It is able to hear WB5KLH's digi & node in Goldfield. We hope to have another packet station on High Potosi soon, and we will seek County assistance in establishing packet stations on one or more Clark County communication sites in an effort to establish a node network to enable non-internet dependent communications both within and without Clark County. We hope to establish a digital communications plan this year, as well.
7 ARES/RACES members volunteered to assist supporting the Clark County OEMs request to staff OEM's Mobile Command Vehicle during the 2014 New Year's Eve celebratory event. The operators in the MCV not only monitored the Clark County ARES/RACES repeater system, but also a multitude of public safety frequencies. Assisting in the MCV were: Dennie, KE7WOD; Jay, KE7EGO; Judy, WD6DCD; Dave, WD6CZY, Keith, KD7TOF, and Bill, W7HMV. Acting as a net control was Lance, K7CIB. Thanks to all. Wishing everyone a Happy 2015!

Douglas County Amateur Radio Team members held 5 nets in December. There was no formal meeting this month. Our Douglas County Dispatch will not need us this year for the New Year's Eve party at Stateline so we do not plan to staff the ham stations at 911 Dispatch or the mobile Dispatch center, Unit 900. We are looking forward to an EMMCOM 1 class in 2015, Mondays, January to March to be held at our 911 Center conference room. Our packet enthusiasts have been working to get equipment at Raw Peak to help tie our state together. Around the State, we have accomplished enhancing digital inter communications.

Quiet month, ARES Training on Dec 6th where we continued entering member data into WebEOC.
During SKYWARN Recognition, Tony N7ACM coordinated the event and We had over 55 contacts and of those 13 contacts with weather service offices throughout the country. We had a late start and was only on the air for about 6 hours. Not bad results for being on the air for that period of time. We will be looking for help next year to operate the full 24 hour window the event takes place.
Derek and I attended the local Emergency Managers Breakfast on the 5th where I explained to the attendees briefly about the ARRL SET usually held in October and I challenged the emergency managers to help us with a Saturday exercise with our Served Agencies.
I was out of state for New Years this year so Doug KA7FOO went up to attempt to make contact with Clark County. Doug said he stood up the operation at the REOC at 2230 hours. Much the same time as in the past. At that time the 80 meter band was very long, 5 landers were strong. Made contact with John, KD7NHC, via 147.180 upon arrival, and was not until 2315 hours when 80 meters became short haul. Threw out your call several time as well as "Any Las Vegas ARES Operations", but had no response. I never made contact with Douglas County at any time on any frequency.
I spent time connecting the KR7EOC packet to Rawe Pk system it worked quite well. Left messages for John, KD7NHC, and Dale, KJ6IX. Dale is in Reno this week for the NWS Packet Station work, will converse with him regarding plans and operations. I do not have a home BBS at this time, part of the discussion with Dale.
